![]() ![]() That only got worse this year as the whole industry dries up and they’ve had to make big layoffs. Coupled with that, rumors abound that sico leadership treats employees poorly and wastes money. Then sico decided to go to war with silencershop for no apparent reason. Those customers have started to pull down the brand image by association. ![]() As a result, their stuff is the go-to choice for a great many people who aren’t super knowledgeable, and you do see people who own sico stuff and don’t really know much about guns or silencers. Sico has a dominant market share in the industry. I believe the consensus view that key Mo is superior to asr is also related to what I’ll call a nickelback halo around sico right now. That in mind, the commentariat believes that the dead air mount is better because it isn’t as susceptible to misuse in the same way the asr mount is. I’m the kind of guy who locks things that lock, and then double checks them. I believe in my own ability to engage the latch. I am also unwilling to abandon the mount because other people have misused it. I don’t doubt that it’s possible, but I have yet to see a real story of that happening. The theoretical result of that would be the suppressor quickly working itself loose, then getting a baffle or end cap strike once it’s sufficiently loose. Specifically, people could just screw it on without engaging the latch, making the mistake of using it like a trifecta. The commentariat on some websites have implied that the asr system is too easy to misuse. It should theoretically not be subject to wearing out the teeth over time and getting a wobble as the internet seems to believe the aac 51t and YHM phantom do. Used properly, it should keep your can where you put it and give you a repeatable zero. The consensus I found was that the asr system is, at least, better than the trifecta mount. I didn’t find any solid engineering analysis or reliable figures that went either way. My saker asr is still in jail so I can’t speak from experience, but I looked into the same thing before I committed to the asr mount.Įverything I found was anecdotal.
